Plow and Hearth began as a small retail store in Madison Virginia back in 1980, and has now flourished into a large national store that carries gorgeous products for your home, yard and garden. They have so many products, it’s a bit mind boggling. I fell in love with their backyard/garden products, not only because of the outstanding price, but the unique pieces their site carries.
We have a new pool with no real lighting around it to keep it pretty at night, so when I saw the Solar-Powered Glass Gladiolas I knew I had to have them. They come in Pink, Purple and Yellow and look beautiful in any backyard. Each stake comes with 3 blooming flowers. You won’t find these beauties at Home Depot! Trust me, I looked.
These flowers are solar powered so
light bulbs or batteries are not required, just keep them in the sun and at night, they should glow. I had a bit of trouble with the flowers glowing at night, but when I put them directly in the sun all day, they did glow a bit. Aren’t they pretty?
I think the more you purchase, the nicer your garden, (or pool will look) and I would love to get an extra one just so I have all 3 colors. I’m still debating on where they look the best in my backyard. Just make sure you dig a pretty big hole or they might fall over in a big storm.
The flowers will look much nicer when I put in some grass or other greenery around the flowers. They look a little bare right now, but that is soon to change! Either that or I might put them in the grass area on the other side of the lawn. The possibilites are endless. I’m open to all suggestions, so if you know where these flowers would look the best, feel free to let me know!
Overall, the flowers are a beautiful accent to any backyard, (or front) and my only suggestion is make sure they are in a heavy light during the day, so you get the glow you want at night.
